Cut refers to the angles and proportions a skilled craftsman creates in transforming a rough diamond into a polished diamond. The precision of cut, symmetry and polish will determine a diamond's quality, brilliance and price. Diamonds with perfect proportions, symmetry and polish are called "ideal-cut" or "fine make" diamonds.
